What is the interpretation of the noble verse: (And to Allah belong the East and the West. So wherever you turn, there is the Face of Allah. Indeed, Allah is all-Encompassing and all-Knowing), and how can it be reconciled with Allah Almighty being above His creation?

It is obligatory to believe that Allah is above the Throne, ascended upon it in a manner befitting His Majesty, and that He has a Face that does not resemble the faces of creation. The original principle regarding verses that mention the Face is that what is intended is Allah's real Face as one of His attributes, except for what the exegetes have differed upon, such as His saying, the Exalted: ﴿So wherever you turn, there is the Face of Allah﴾ [Al-Baqarah/115]. The correct view is that what is intended is Allah's real Face. This Face is magnificent; it cannot be encompassed by description or imagination. And His saying, the Exalted: ﴿Everything will perish except His Face﴾ [Al-Qasas/88], means: everything will perish except His Essence, which is characterized by the Face. It is obligatory not to liken the Creator to creation, for "there is nothing like unto Him." There is no contradiction between Allah being ascended upon His Throne and His being before the face of the worshipper, nor between His descent in the last third of the night despite the variation in night times across different regions of the earth. One must believe in this without delving into the modality.
