The answer

The ' is recommended for the newborn if the guardian is able to perform it during the period of (postnatal bleeding). If the guardian was unable at the time of birth but then became able before the seventh day, the 'Aqiqah is recommended for him. If he becomes able after the seventh day, but still within the nifas period, there is a difference of opinion, and the preponderant view is that it is still recommended for him. However, if he becomes able after the nifas period, it is not recommended for him. Therefore, if you are able to perform the 'Aqiqah during the nifas period — which is usually sixty days — then it is recommended for you to perform the 'Aqiqah for your daughter.
