Is it permissible to recite the Qur’an out of the order found in the Mus'haf, and what is the evidence for that?

The arrangement of verses when reciting the Quran is obligatory by the consensus of scholars. As for the arrangement of chapters (surahs), it is obligatory and divinely ordained (tawqifi), though some say it is merely recommended, which is the more prevalent opinion. It is permissible to recite the chapters in an order different from that of the Mushaf (definition), but it is better to arrange them as they are in the Mushaf. However, the arrangement of verses is obligatory, and it is not permissible to recite them in reverse order.
