What is the ruling on one who dies owing expiations for fasting, prayer, or accidental killing, and has not fulfilled them—do they lapse for him through seeking forgiveness or repentance?

If someone dies and owes expiation for delaying the fasts of Ramadan (definition), 750 grams of the staple food of the land should be given from their estate for each day. If they do not have any wealth, the heirs are not obligated to feed on their behalf, but it is commendable for them to do so. As for the prayers they missed, they are not to be made up for them. If they owed expiation for killing, sixty poor people should be fed from their estate. If they owed expiation for an oath, it should also be given from their estate. As for the Hereafter, there is no accountability upon them if they were not negligent or if they had repented.
