Is it permissible to accept money offered as assistance, when it is known that its source is unlawful? And if it is not permissible, what should be done with it?

It is forbidden to eat from the money of one whose wealth is unlawful, and this includes accepting gifts or aid from them. Whoever acquires unlawful money must dispose of it by spending it on public interests.
