Is a husband's refusal to marry a second wife considered disobedience to his parents, who insist on it because they do not like his current wife, despite his understanding with her and the presence of a daughter?

Filial piety and obedience to parents are obligatory in matters of what is good and permissible. However, a husband is not obliged to obey his parents concerning marrying a second wife if he does not desire to do so, and he is not considered disobedient for refusing, as stated by Ibn Taymiyyah. Nevertheless, if he fears falling into haram (definition), such as injustice among wives, then it is not permissible for him to marry. In all cases, he must seek to appease his parents and treat them gently.
