What is the Shar'i ruling on dealing with abusive family members and relatives who do not inquire about the children of the deceased, and how can sin be avoided and the children's suffering be alleviated in this situation, given that the children have overcome the shock of their father's death with great difficulty?

It is advisable to be patient, forgiving, and overlook the negligence of the husband's family towards the children, and not to teach them to despise their relatives. They should be reminded of the obligation to maintain ties of kinship. The father must be given his rightful inheritance from his son, and it is not permissible to deprive him of it or impede him from it. As for the parents, it is not permissible to fall short in their rights, and their rights should be fulfilled in any possible way, even if it is outside the home. One must be patient with the bad behavior of siblings and not fall short in honoring and maintaining ties with them, unless the harm increases and reaches a level of detriment to one's religion or worldly life, in which case it is permissible to shorten interaction with them.
