What is the ruling on the prostration of recitation after the 'Asr prayer?

Scholars have differed regarding the prostration of recitation (Sujud (definition) at-Tilawah) during the prohibited times for prayer. The Hanafis and Hanbalis are of the opinion that it is not permissible due to the general prohibition by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, against praying after Fajr and after Asr. The Malikis, however, permitted it without any dislike after Fajr until it becomes light (Isfar), and after Asr until the sun yellows. The Shafi'is, and one narration from Ahmad, favored its permissibility because it is among the prayers that have a cause (Dawat al-Asbab), arguing that the general prohibition has been specifically exempted for prayers with a cause by texts, such as making up the Sunnah (definition) of Dhuhr after Asr, and performing Tahiyyat al-Masjid (greeting the mosque prayer) while the Imam is delivering the sermon.
