Mediation between a seller and a buyer (brokering) is permissible if it pertains to something Islamically permissible. Companies that mediate between usurious banks, prohibited companies, and clients are engaged in a forbidden act, and it is not permissible to purchase their shares because the shareholder authorizes the company's management in its prohibited work. Whoever was a partner in companies that mix the permissible and the forbidden, then repents and sells his shares, must dispose of the profits resulting from the forbidden transactions by giving them to charitable causes. The rest of the profits become permissible for him.
