The question

Is the Fajr prayer considered valid if I pray two rak'ahs for the Sunnah of Fajr, then two rak'ahs intending them as the regular Sunnah (ratibah) of Fajr, then supplicate, then pray the Fajr prayer, knowing that I have heard that the two rak'ahs of the ratibah are the Sunnah of Fajr, while I have also heard that four rak'ahs are prayed before Dhuhr, and two after it, and two after Maghrib, and two after Isha, and two before the Fajr prayer?

The answer

The Fajr prayer is the regular Fajr Sunnah. It consists of two rak'ahs, performed with the intention of the Fajr regular Sunnah or the Fajr Sunnah, after the time for Fajr begins. Then, the obligatory Fajr prayer is performed.
