Will he who follows the Sunnah of the Messenger, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, be rewarded without knowing it is a Sunnah?

The sacred texts indicate that the reward for an action is conditional upon intention, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, actions are by intentions." Intention follows knowledge, and whoever is ignorant that an action is from the Sunnah (definition) cannot form the intention for it, and consequently, will not be rewarded for it due to the absence of intention. Therefore, a Muslim must acquire beneficial knowledge to earn rewards.
