Is it true that a person has two destinies written for him: one that changes in the records of the angels, and another that is fixed and unchangeable in the Preserved Tablet?

The divine decree (Qadaa’) is of two types: an unalterable, eternal decree recorded in the Mother of the Book (Umm al-Kitab), and a contingent decree recorded in the angels’ scrolls, which can be erased or affirmed based on causes. This latter type is explained by the Almighty's saying: "Allah erases what He wills and affirms [what He wills], and with Him is the Mother of the Book" (Quran 13:39), and by the hadith (definition): "Nothing averts the divine decree except supplication (du’a), and nothing increases one’s lifespan except righteousness."
