The answer

The jurists agreed that reciting a complete after Al-Fatihah is preferable, but they differed on the minimum amount required to fulfill the :

- The Malikis: It is achieved by reciting anything in addition to Al-Fatihah, even if it's a single verse, whether long or short, or a part of a verse that conveys a complete meaning. - The Hanafis, Shafi'is, and Hanbalis: It is achieved by reciting a single verse. Ahmad recommended that it be a long verse, such as the Verse of Debt.

What the Malikis concluded is more appropriate due to the generality of Allah's saying: "So recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur'an."
