Is there a prophetic hadith that encourages eating fruit before a meal, such as: "Eat fruit before food"?

Sources mention the saying, "Eat fruit before food," but it has not been confirmed as a Hadith (definition) or an athar (a saying or action attributed to a Companion). Al-Ghazali, in his Ihya', stated that serving fruit first is among the etiquettes of eating because it is more beneficial for the body, citing Allah's verse: ﴿وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ﴾ (And fruit from whatever they choose, and the meat of birds, from whatever they desire). Furthermore, Al-Nawawi, in his commentary on the Hadith of Abu al-Haytham ibn al-Tayyihan, mentioned the desirability of serving fruit before bread and meat.
