The answer

The term "Sahabi" (Companion) is applied to anyone who met the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, believed in him, and died upon Islam. Scholars differed regarding whether Jesus, peace be upon him, is counted among the Companions. Some considered him as such because he did not die and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saw him on the Night of Mi'raj (Ascension). Imam Al-Dhahabi and Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar asserted this. Al-Dhahabi even considered him a prophet, a Companion, and the last of the Companions to die. According to this view, he is, without dispute, the best of the Companions absolutely.
