Does a husband's ablution (wudu') become invalidated if he kisses his wife with desire while he is on his way to prayer?
A'isha, may Allah be pleased with her, reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, "kissed one of his wives and then went out to prayer without performing ablution." Scholars have differed on the ruling regarding touching and kissing a woman, and whether it invalidates wudu' (ablution) or not. The preponderant opinion is that it does not invalidate wudu' at all. The fundamental principle is that wudu' remains valid until there is evidence to prove its invalidation. No evidence has been reported in the Qur'an or Sunnah that touching a woman invalidates wudu'. Therefore, touching a woman, kissing her, or embracing her does not invalidate wudu', as long as no madhy (pre-seminal fluid) or maniy (seminal fluid) is discharged.
