What is the reason for considering adultery a heinous sin, apart from the issues of lineage mixing and disease transmission, while acknowledging the obligation to obey God in His commands and prohibitions?

Adultery (zina) is an abomination because Allah described it as such in the Holy Quran, and this description does not change. The Quran explained the prohibition of adultery by stating that it is "fahishah" (an abomination), meaning an extremely repulsive act, and "sa'a sabeela" (an evil way), meaning a bad path. Islam prohibits adultery due to the immense evils it entails, such as: the loss of lineage, exposing offspring to neglect, corrupting wives against their husbands, exposing women to neglect, and the emergence of disputes and conflicts. The prevalence of adultery leads to young people shunning lawful marriage and evading the responsibility of building a family, which in turn disintegrates society.
