Is it permissible for a brother to insult or beat his brother for the most trivial reasons?

Your brother is not permitted to insult or strike you. All of you must embody the noble ethics of Islam, which include mutual respect. The elder should show mercy to the younger, and the younger should show respect to the elder. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "He is not of us who does not show mercy to our young ones and does not acknowledge the honor of our elders." Scholars have stated the prohibition of insulting a Muslim, cursing them, or frightening them without a legitimate religious right.
