What is the ruling on creating short promotional games for a specific product, to be circulated in universities with the distribution of prizes, provided they are free of impermissible elements, music, and images of living beings?

There is no objection to making games free of music and images of animate beings for truthful promotion. There is also no objection to holding a free competition for the completion of these works, with a known prize given to the winner, such as saying: "Whoever completes the work will receive such-and-such amount of money." A condition for the validity of such a prize (ju'ala) is that the prize must be known in kind and amount. These games can be utilized in the fields of education, guidance, and da'wah (Islamic propagation) activities.
