Is it necessary for one afflicted by سلس ( سلس (incontinence) ) to perform ablution for every prayer time, even if they do not find any trace of incontinence at the subsequent time?

Scholars have differed on the ruling regarding the ablution (wudu') of a person afflicted with urinary incontinence (sahib al-sils) if he performs ablution and prays, and then the time for the next prayer arrives without any discharge from him, and no other nullifier of ablution has occurred. Is it sufficient for him to rely on the first ablution, or must he perform another ablution?

The majority of scholars hold that ablution is not obligatory unless another nullifier occurs, whereas some believe that ablution is obligatory for every prayer.

The disagreement on this issue is well-known within the Hanbali school of thought.

It is known that the ruling for a person afflicted with incontinence is similar to that of a woman with irregular bleeding (mustahadah); he may pray more than one obligatory prayer with the same ablution if nothing has been discharged from him.

The Malikis are of the view that ablution is not obligatory for a person afflicted with incontinence for every prayer time, but it is recommended if no other nullifier has occurred.
