What is the need for the Sunnah if the Qur’an is complete, perfect, and sufficient for Sharia?

A Muslim must adhere to the Prophetic Sunnah alongside the Quran, for the Sunnah clarifies and explains the Quran. A number of Quranic verses emphasize the obligation to obey the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, and to take what he has brought. Furthermore, the religion was perfected with both the Quran and the Sunnah. The Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, clarified that his Sunnah holds the same authoritative status and binding nature as the Quran, and he warned against sufficing with the Quran alone. Scholars have explained that the Sunnah either conforms to the Quran or interprets it, restricts its absolute statements, specifies its general ones, and establishes new rulings. The Quran cannot be properly understood without the Sunnah. Whoever claims to suffice with the Quran alone contradicts the Quran's own commands to refer to Allah and His Messenger in times of dispute.
