Did the disciples believe, after Jesus' (peace be upon him) ascension, that he was actually crucified?

The disciples (Al-Hawariyyun) were the companions and supporters of Jesus, peace be upon him, and all of them were Muslims. Not all of them believed in the crucifixion of the Messiah, and if some of them thought so, it does not diminish their faith. This is because believing in the death or crucifixion of a prophet does not undermine his prophethood; it is more akin to a mistake that does not necessitate disbelief. The truth revealed by the Quran is that the Messiah was neither killed nor crucified, but rather it was made to appear so to them. Some Jews and Christians thought that the crucified person was the Messiah due to their ignorance, while those who were with the Messiah in the house witnessed his ascension.
