If skilled doctors determine that pregnancy would harm a woman's health, she is permitted to take legitimate measures to prevent conception in order to preserve her life and health. However, a woman does not sin by proceeding with a pregnancy despite the possibility of the child being born with a disability, as there is a chance the child will be born healthy and free from ailments.
