What are we to do when we desire marriage but are unable to, and temptations surround us, and fasting does not seem to be a quick solution, while our families make the matters of marriage difficult for us?

Protection from tribulations, especially the tribulation of women, is not limited to refraining from seeking them out, but rather involves fleeing from them and escaping to Allah, holding fast to His religion. Among the most important means of protection is marriage. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded young people to marry because it helps in lowering the gaze and protecting one's private parts. For those who cannot marry, they should fast, for it is a shield for them. Therefore, strive to fortify yourself by marrying a righteous woman, seek Allah's help, and do not despair. The abundance of righteous women necessitates searching, asking, and seeking assistance from good people, knowing that Islamic law encourages facilitating dowries rather than making them exorbitant.
