Is a husband entitled to prevent his wife from owning her own phone and from communicating with her family and her brother's wife, knowing that he finds goodness and love in her in other matters?

The wife is advised to be patient and obedient to her husband, to communicate with him, and to remind him of good companionship, honoring parents, and maintaining kinship ties. She should also remind him that he has no right to prevent her from visiting her parents unless he fears they might corrupt her.

The husband is advised not to prevent his wife from maintaining ties with her family or from owning and using a phone for permissible purposes. Protecting a woman is achieved by observing Allah's limits and blocking avenues to temptation, by having a good opinion of her, and by treating her gently, in accordance with the Prophet's (peace be upon him) recommendations: "Treat women kindly," and "The best of you is the best to his family, and I am the best of you to my family."
