Is the narration valid that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, placed his hand on Aisha’s shoulder when he was angry, and supplicated: "O Allah, forgive her sin, remove the rage from her heart, and protect her from misleading tribulations"?

The hadith narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw her angry, he would place his hand on her shoulder and supplicate for her: "O Allah, forgive her sin, remove the rage from her heart, and protect her from misleading tribulations," is weak. It was reported by Ibn Asakir in Tarikh Dimashq and by Abu Mansour Ibn Asakir in Al-Arba'in fi Manaqib Ummahat al-Mu'minin. Its chain of narration includes Baqiyyah ibn al-Walid, who was a severe muddalis (one who conceals defects in a chain of narration) and did not explicitly state hearing it. Yazid ibn Ayham and Ibn Shurayh are acceptable, but their narrations are weak if not corroborated, and they were not corroborated for this hadith. Sheikh Al-Albani declared it weak in Silsilat al-Da'ifah.
