Is obedience to parents obligatory if it leads to harm for the daughter and the loss of her welfare in treatment, and they refuse treatment fearing what people might say?

Obedience to parents is not absolute like obedience to Allah and His Messenger, but rather it is restricted by several conditions: Firstly, that the obedience is not in disobedience to Allah. Secondly, that it contains benefit for the parents or repels harm from them, and that it does not involve obstinacy or hardship for the child or waste their interests. Thirdly, that the obedience does not cause harm to the child. Accordingly, if refraining from treatment causes harm or pain, and the parents prevent treatment for invalid reasons such as people's talk and customs, then their obedience is not obligatory, and undergoing the operation is not considered disobedience. Nevertheless, it is advisable to try to convince them and seek help from those with intellect and wisdom, or to search for a safe and reliable treatment that does not require their complete approval, while avoiding confrontation.
