Is a woman's foot considered 'awrah, and is there any harm if a small part of it becomes visible while walking?

The feet are considered part of the 'awrah (intimate parts that must be covered) for women according to the majority of scholars, contrary to the Hanafis. However, according to the Hanafis, there is no necessary correlation between saying that a woman's foot is not 'awrah and the permissibility of looking at it. Rather, the permissibility of looking is contingent upon the absence of fear of lust, in addition to the absence of 'awrah. Therefore, the abaya must be lengthened so that the foot or toe is not exposed, or socks must be worn under the abaya to cover the foot.
