The wife must reside where her husband resides unless there is a legitimate شرعي excuse; otherwise, she becomes disobedient (nashiz). The children's maintenance is the father's responsibility and is not waived if the mother travels with them. If the mother resides in Qatar, custody belongs to the father according to the majority of jurists.
