What is incumbent upon the family of a woman who died after three years of illness during which she was unable to pray or fast due to deteriorating consciousness?

Illness does not nullify the obligation of prayer as long as the sick person is conscious. Therefore, the woman must make up the prayers she missed as long as she was conscious, and we ask Allah to forgive her. It is not prescribed for her family to make up the prayers she missed due to illness; rather, they should seek forgiveness for her. Nor is it obligatory to make up the fasts on her behalf if she was unable to make them up.
