The question

Is it possible to purify clothes that have become ritually impure by washing each piece under the tap with the addition of a cleaning liquid, and is it permissible to wear them wet afterward? What is the ruling on placing a clothesline with pure clothes on an impure ground? Is it necessary to unfasten ribbons or buttons before washing ritually impure clothes?

The answer

The fundamental principle regarding things is purity, and one does not rule them to be impure merely based on doubt; rather, certainty is required for that. So, if you are not certain about the impurity of your brother's clothes, nothing is required of you. Even if you were certain, impurity does not transfer unless the impure spot touches a pure spot, and one of them is wet. As for washing an impure garment, it is sufficient to immerse it in water; it is not necessary to wash it in a washing machine. It is permissible to wear it while it is still damp after washing. The presence of impurity on the floor does not affect clothes that are hung up, as long as it does not come into contact with them. It is not necessary to undo buttons or ties when washing; rather, it is sufficient to pour water over them.
