What is the ruling on the saying: "So-and-so has risen above time (ad-dahr)"? And what is the ruling on the sayings: "The noble Prophetic Tradition has risen above time," "The science of Islamic jurisprudence has risen above time," and "The fundamentals of the Arabic language have risen above time"? Are these sayings considered false?

If a person's high status is due to knowledge or similar noble pursuits, there is no harm in it, for Allah the Almighty says: "Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees." There is no harm in expressing the virtue of knowledge and the high status of the sciences of Hadith (definition), Fiqh, and Arabic, for through these sciences people come to know the rulings of their religion. It has been said regarding the virtue of Fiqh:

"And the best of sciences is the science of Fiqh; for it becomes a means to all sciences.

For indeed, a single pious jurist is superior and elevated above a thousand ascetics."
