Is a divorce that was verbally issued twice during a period of purity in which the wife was engaged in intercourse valid, and what is the ruling on a revocably divorced woman going out with her ex-husband during the waiting period before the decision on reconciliation is made?

Divorce during menstruation or during a period of purity in which the husband had intercourse with his wife is forbidden, but it is considered valid by most scholars. If a divorce is issued in a state of extreme anger that overwhelms one's intellect to the point where one does not know what one is saying, it does not take effect. Regarding a wife leaving the house during her 'iddah (definition) (waiting period) with her husband's permission, there is no harm in it. However, without his permission, scholars have differed: the Malikis and Hanbalis permit her to go out during the day for her needs, while the Hanafis and Shafi'is do not permit her to go out neither by night nor by day. Regarding the number of divorces that have occurred, if the husband intended two divorces, then two have occurred. If he intended one divorce and repeated the لفظ (utterance) for emphasis, then only one divorce occurs. If he repeated the utterance and did not intend anything specific, then if he said: "You are divorced, you are divorced," two divorces have occurred. If he said: "You are divorced, divorced," then only one divorce has occurred. It is preferable to present these issues to a Sharia (definition) court or to trusted scholars.
