What is the ruling on filing teeth to eliminate bad breath and enable their cleaning, and not for adornment?

It is not permissible to space teeth for the sake of beauty, as it involves altering Allah's creation. This is unless there is a need that necessitates it, such as a repulsive appearance or a disease that has afflicted them. One should not expand on this matter beyond what is necessary. Cleaning teeth is not considered one of these needs, as the space between teeth for cleaning is well-known to all people and does not require widening them.
