Is it permissible to abort a 25-day-old fetus due to poor financial and social conditions and the presence of another child?

Abortion without a legitimate Sharia excuse is forbidden, because it is the destruction of a soul and an assault upon it. It is not permissible unless the continuation of the pregnancy poses a definite threat to the mother's life. As for abortion due to fear of poverty and financial hardship, this is a sign of mistrust in Allah and weakness of faith. Allah has prohibited this, as He states: "And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Indeed, killing them has always been a great sin." and "And if you fear poverty, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Wise."
