The answer

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade his Companions from prostrating to him, clarifying that prostration is due to Allah alone, even if it were a prostration of greeting and honor. This is as stated in the hadiths of Mu'adh ibn Jabal and Qays ibn Sa'd, and the saying of Al-Jamal, where he said: "If I were to command anyone to prostrate to other than Allah, I would have commanded the wife to prostrate to her husband." Sheikh Ibn Baz, may Allah have mercy on him, clarified that prostration is for Allah alone, and that the of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, prohibited prostration to anyone other than Allah, making it exclusively for Allah the Almighty.
