Is it forbidden to remain silent upon seeing a smoker in a public place, or is it recommended to advise him? Is advising a photographer obligatory or recommended? Is photography forbidden, necessitating denunciation? Is advising a man who shaves his beard obligatory or recommended? And is it true that refraining from enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong is disliked when witnessing something disliked, and forbidden when witnessing something forbidden?

We have previously explained the prohibition of smoking and the obligation to forbid it, while exercising wisdom, because abandoning it despite having the ability and being safe from harm is considered one of the major sins.

Forbidding disliked actions (makroohaat) is commendable, not obligatory.

The preponderant view is the complete prohibition of shaving the beard and the obligation to rebuke anyone who does so.

It is not obligatory to rebuke regarding photographic images if the photographer does not believe it to be forbidden; rather, it is commendable to offer advice, guidance, and to clarify the preponderant view among scholars.

In matters of scholarly disagreement where there is no decisive text or consensus, one should not rebuke someone who acts upon it, whether they are a mujtahid (independent jurist) or a muqallid (follower of a school of thought). However, if a text is established, then the differing opinion holds no weight; rather, it is obligatory to clarify the preponderant view.
