The answer

Dealing in usury is a major sin and entails the war of Allah. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the one who consumes it, the one who feeds it, its scribe, and its two witnesses. Its outcome is destitution. It is not permissible for a Muslim to take an usurious loan to build a home except in cases of extreme necessity, which is reaching or nearing the point of perishing, like someone compelled to eat and wear clothes, or if he cannot find shelter through lawful means. If he can obtain housing by renting or other means, then it is not permissible for him to take an usurious loan. It is advised to stay away from usurious loans, for whoever abandons something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better.
