How sound is the supplication that is recited when in fear: "I have entered upon you with 'There is no god but Allah'...and I have bridled your mouth with 'There is no might or power except with Allah'...and with me is my beloved Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah...and I have fulfilled my need by the permission of Allah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar above what I fear and what I dread"?

The supplication "O Allah, O Guardian of my blessing, and O my refuge in my distress..." was not reported in the Prophetic Sunnah, although its last phrase is narrated from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both. There are authentic Prophetic supplications that are recited when fearing enemies and rulers, among them: "O Allah, suffice me against them with whatever You wish," and "O Allah, we place You before them and seek refuge in You from their evils," and "In the name of Allah, I have put my trust in Allah, and there is no might or power except with Allah," and "In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing."
