The question

Is it permissible for someone afflicted with chronic urethral discharge ( سلس المذي ) to perform istinja (cleansing) and wudu (ablution) many hours before the Dhuhr prayer time, in order to pray Dhuhr, due to the unavailability of places for istinja and wudu when the prayer time begins?

The answer

If the constant flow of prostatic fluid (madhy) is persistent for most of the time, then ablution (wudu') is not invalidated according to the Malikis, to avoid hardship. This ruling includes all other fluids that exit from the two private parts. However, if the constant flow is not persistent for most of the time, then its exit invalidates ablution and necessitates washing what it has soiled. Prayer is not valid before these two (ablution and washing) unless one is unable to perform ablution, in which case one performs (dry ablution) and the washing of impurity is waived. Re-performing the prayer is not obligatory except within the time (of the prayer) if one is able to wash the impurity.
