Is it permissible for a Muslim woman to marry a Christian man of good character? And is the Muslim woman's capacity to marry from the People of the Book similar to that of a Muslim man?

The noble verse: (This day, [all] good foods have been made lawful for you. And the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you, and your food is lawful for them. And [lawful in marriage are] the chaste women from among the believers and the chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you, when you have given them their due compensation, desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse or taking [secret] lovers. And whoever denies the faith - his work has become worthless, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers) [Al-Ma'idah:5] is an expansion for Muslims and a removal of hardship, as it has made lawful for them good things and marriage to chaste women from the People of the Book after paying their dowries, and it has threatened whoever denies the faith.

However, it is not permissible for a non-Muslim to marry a Muslim woman according to the texts of the Quran, Sunnah (definition), and scholarly consensus, such as His saying, the Almighty: (And do not marry polytheistic men [to your daughters] until they believe), and His saying: (And never will Allah give the disbelievers over the believers a way [to overcome them]), because this marriage would give the non-believer authority over her and lead to great hardship for her. She might be humiliated or coerced into his religion. This is unlike the marriage of a Muslim man to a woman from the People of the Book, as his religion obliges him to respect her religion and her prophet.
