What is the reality of the narration about a woman speaking the Quran, and what is its ruling?

The books of literature mention the story of the woman who spoke using the Quran, but these books are not relied upon for authentication. As for the ruling on reciting the Quran with the intention of speaking, Al-Nawawi mentioned a difference of opinion on this matter. It was narrated from Ibrahim Al-Nakha'i that he disliked the Quran being recited concerning worldly affairs, while Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) answered a man during prayer with a Quranic verse.
