"We did not find a sound hadith with this wording, but Ibn al-Jawzi mentioned in al-Mawdu’at a hadith with the wording: ""If a servant abandons supplication for his parents, sustenance will be cut off from the child in this world,"" then he judged it to be unsound, and al-Juwaybari is accused of fabricating it. A group of those who authored books on fabricated hadiths mentioned this hadith. It was mentioned in Ghidha' al-Albab that some of the Companions mentioned that abandoning supplication for parents narrows the livelihood of the child.
