Is a man's knowledge of his wife's menstruation at the time of divorce considered influential, based on Ibn Taymiyyah's statement that divorce during menstruation does not occur?

The majority of scholars hold that divorce pronounced during menstruation or during a period of purity in which intercourse has occurred, is valid despite its being an innovation (bid'ah). However, Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah is of the view that an innovative divorce does not take effect. If a man divorces his wife while she is menstruating, and he is unaware of it, there is no sin upon him. According to those who do not validate innovative divorce, this divorce does not take effect. Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen states that a divorce pronounced upon a menstruating woman is not effective, whether the man was aware of her menstruation or not. However, if he was aware, then he bears sin.
