The question

Is earning from the company "Oriflame" considered halal, based on its working method which involves paying a symbolic subscription fee, obtaining a 30% discount on products, and realizing profit from the price difference and a monthly incentive based on personal or team work volume, with no financial loss for the subscriber if a team is not built? And is it permissible to purchase from it for personal use and benefit from the discount only, without engaging in distribution?

The answer

It is not permissible to pay a financial subscription to obtain a discount on goods (discount cards), due to the element of gharar (uncertainty) involved. The purchaser pays money without knowing what they will receive, and this has been decided by the Permanent Fiqh Council and the fatwa of senior scholars. Similarly, pyramid or multi-level marketing is not permissible, due to the element of gambling and aiding gamblers. The participant may lose their money or gain many times over, based on their ability to convince others. Therefore, one must withdraw from these companies and repent to Allah. As for the money earned before knowing of the prohibition, it is not necessary to dispose of it.
