What is the ruling on using verses from the Holy Quran in jokes and humorous stories? Is it permissible to liken a chicken to "Pharaoh's people, exposed to the Fire, morning and evening"?

Al-Tirmidhi narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, joked with an old woman, saying that an old woman would not enter Paradise. Then he clarified to her that she would not enter it as an old woman in this world, but rather Allah would create her anew as a virgin, based on the Almighty's saying: "Indeed, We have produced them in a [new] creation. And made them virgins, devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age." Al-Albani and others have authenticated the hadith of Abu Hurairah, in which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said regarding his playful remark: "I only speak the truth." Based on this, there is no harm in the aforementioned joke. However, refraining from such jokes is more cautious for religious piety and more befitting of scrupulousness.
