The answer

Children are the adornment of this worldly life and the delight of their parents' eyes. The Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade invoking curses upon children for fear that it might coincide with a time of answered supplication. A parent's supplication for or against their child is answered. It is wrong for parents to invoke curses upon their children when angry; rather, they should pray for their guidance. It is from Allah's mercy that He does not answer the supplication of parents against their children if it is made during a time of anger and distress, as Allah Almighty says: "And if Allah were to hasten for mankind the evil [they invoke] as they hasten the good, their term would have been ended for them." This is because Allah knows that they do not intend evil at that moment.
