The answer

If a woman sees blood during a period that is suitable for menstruation (meaning there are 13 days or more between this sighting and the cessation of the previous blood, and the bleeding does not exceed 15 days), then it is menstrual blood, and she must make up any fasts she observed during it. However, if the blood is istiḥāḍa (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding), then her fasting and prayers during that period are valid, and she is not required to repeat them.
