What is the ruling regarding a husband's oath of divorce, sworn to prevent his wife from taking anything from her family, and is the wife permitted to visit her family?

The fatwa holds that divorce occurs if the husband swears to divorce his wife should a certain event occur, and that event subsequently takes place. The determination of what triggers the divorce depends on the husband's intention at the time of the oath. The husband does not have the right to prevent his wife from visiting her parents for such a reason. It is not obligatory for the wife's father to rent out what the husband desires to him. It is also impermissible to evict a tenant before the end of the lease period because a rental contract is a binding agreement. Furthermore, swearing by divorce is not permissible, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever swears an oath, let him swear by Allah or remain silent."
