Is it permissible to use perfumes that contain a small percentage of alcohol?

It is permissible to use perfumes that contain a small percentage of intoxicating alcohol if no color, taste, or scent is apparent from it. This is the view preferred by the fatwas of the Permanent Committee and Sheikh Ibn 'Uthaymeen. Nevertheless, it is forbidden to add intoxicating alcohol to these perfumes, as the majority of scholars hold the view that it is unlawful to benefit from intoxicants.
